Hymnus

Co-founded in 2002 by Mary Zard, Choir Administrator, and Brian T. Carson, MMUS as musical Director, Hymnus is a non-profit, community based choir head-quartered in New Prague, Minnesota.  Current musical director is Mr. Rush Wagner, M.ED.  Rehearsals are held at the New Prague Arts and Culture building, which is located at 301 Lexington Avenue, South, New Prague, Minnesota.  (This is NOT a mailing address!)

Our Mission

The mission of Hymnus is to give people of the greater New Prague Area ~ boy, girls, teens and adults ~ the opportunity to experience the joy and satisfaction of learning and singing the great music of the western liturgical tradition. 

 Choristers are taught solid skills involving vocal production and sight singing, with the young people singing alongside adults, to the same standard as adults.  In other words, we are not a children's choir with adults added, we are a full choir, with boys and girls contributing in the same capacity as adults. 

 Plants have been arriving at Uncle Earl's Pet Center!

Perennials, annuals, herbs, hanging baskets, veggies, and much, much more.  All sales go to Hymnus!

 Hymnus has been invited, by audition, to sing Handels Messiah at the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts November 25, 2012.

Our fundraising plant sale is now in progress! Come purchase all your outdoor plants including annuals, herbs, perennials, hanging baskets and more!  The sale is being held at Uncle Earl's Pet Center, 823 1st street SE, in New Prague.
