Hymnus

Co-founded in 2002 by Mary Zard, Choir Administrator, and Brian T. Carson, MMUS as musical Director, Hymnus is a non-profit, community based choir head-quartered in New Prague, Minnesota.  Current musical director is Mr. Rush Wagner, MED.  Rehearsals are held at the New Prague Arts and Culture building, which is located at 301 Lexington Avenue, South, New Prague, Minnesota.  (This is NOT a mailing address!)

Our Mission

The mission of Hymnus is to give people of the greater New Prague Area ~ boy, girls, teens and adults ~ the opportunity to experience the joy and satisfaction of learning and singing the great music of the western liturgical tradition. 

 Choristers are taught solid skills involving vocal production and sight singing, with the young people singing alongside adults, to the same standard as adults.  In other words, we are not a children's choir with adults added, we are a full choir, with boys and girls contributing in the same capacity as adults.
